Omeprazole Muscle & Joint Pain

I was diagnosed with GERD ten weeks ago. I've been on omeprazole 20 mg for the first 4 weeks , increased to 40 mg the next 4 weeks, now back down to 20 mg. The mess have improved the GERD symptoms, but I am now having muscle & joint pain over the past week. Sporadic aches and pains in my hands, arms and knees. Anyone else with this side effect?  And any vitamin supplements suggested that May help offset it?

Hi mate,

I am currently on the same meds are you but been on 20mg for a while, a week after I started taking them I got some weird aches and pains which i have never had before.

My lower legs ached and feet
Forearms ached and outer side of hand as well.

Im still getting them now.

Let me know what the out come was, just glad its not just me.

  Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

DO make sure u tell ur Dr about how u r feeling, I do not think this is a typical side effect of this med, but it may be having a reaction to ne other meds u may be on?

But when ever u have a reaction or possible side effect contact ur Dr asap to make sure they know and can advise u the best course of action.
