Post Bravo procedure

Has anyone else had these side affects post Bravo procedure, lots of PAIN!! You feel like you have an ulcer.

I had a Bravo procedure and colonoscopy done yesterday 08-20-09 under anesthesia, when I woke up I had some pretty strong epigastric pain the dr came to see me in recovery room and he said that about 23% of people experience this problem with pain. The hospital that I went to was an hour from where I live so someone drove me home and I just slept in the car and still continued to have pain even when I got home the pain was escalating. By the evening it was getting worse, eating food did not make it better or worse just the same. When I did eat it would feel like the food was getting stuck.
Today 08-21-09 the pain by the afternoon is unreal, it feels like the pain I experienced when I had my duodenal ulcer about a year ago. I called my doctor and he said that I must have a sensitive stomach and to try to hang in there until tomorrow when the test is completed. If I had known that this test is so painful I would not have EVER had it done! I also spoke with the nurses at the GI lab and they said that it is very unusual to have that much pain but in rare occasions it does happen. Tomorrow first thing in the morning I am going to take my prilosec and try to get this thing under control.

Well since my last post I am so much better yesterday I went back on my prilosec and boom pain gone!! What a relief, so I guess being off the prilosec for so long (almost two weeks) and then having the procedure just was too much for my stomach. Thank you so much for you input.

Hi...sorry I have not had this proceedure, and I hope a member that has will post thier experience on here.

But I did want to mention that ur pains may be from the meds and drugs used during the surgery. I recently had surgery and I experienced a flare with my gerd symptoms afterwards.

I pray that is all it is and will disapate for u.
