Hi all,
I have a consult with the Surgeon in Adelaide (not the retired Surgeon, but his Associate) next week about getting a date for the Nissen Fund. and I have all my previous scopes and reports and everything ready and a bit anxious about it all when I read on here about people wanting to reverse Nissen Funds and complications and going for 3rd and 4th time!
I am now on 60-80mg of Nexium a day and not getting any relief so when I think about postponing or even backing out, I know that I have tried all the other remedies, are on maximal medicine treatment and still symptomatic, don't smoke, don't drink, don't eat unhealthy and nothing major to cut out of diet, sleeping on left side with propped up pillows... so then I basically think I need this surgery and hopefully soon, so that I can recover and start enjoying life again.
Can you please give me inputs on the type of questions I should ask him? We live 600km from Adelaide and I don't really know what to expect post-op. Will I be able to travel soon after the op? follow-ups?
Any inputs will be appreciated.
I do think those with positive results don't post as often as those with negative results. I also think that one must resolve prior to the surgery to follow the Nissen Fundoplication diet exactly as prescribed.
Best wishes. Procede with confidence, but follow directions!
