F'shur I'll keep you posted ... and if there's anything acid, that'd be apple cider vinegar and that's a fact.
Happy New Year
Well, on one episode of Dr Oz he said it was not a good idea to take apple cider vinegar as u r only adding to the acid...I drink apple cider....not vinegar........I do not think I could bring myself to do that...lol....
Keep us posted if u have ne changes : )

Well, I sure thank you for your prayer that the ice cream keeps working for me because, as anyone who's had bile reflux knows, it's bloody awful. Thanks.
Someone once recommended a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar a day for acid reflux - I didn't try it regularly enough to see if it worked or not. I slavishly went to the meds. Arrghhh
Well that is a good question as to how much dairy is in the ice cream u r eating...hmmmm, cuz I know when my reflux is flaring, I can not eat ne dairy.,.. yogurt, milk, ice cream,.none of it....which is sad cuz I do love it.
What I do find odd for me is I do feel better having a glass of apple cider every day....not sure if it is bcuz it helps my IBS so that keeps pressure off my hiatal hernia and in turn helps the reflux or not????
We all have to see what works for us...best thing is to keep a journal for a while to see which foods trigger a response....
I pray ur Ice cream continues to work for u : )

Hi Selma - thanks for calling attention to those concerns. Fortunately I don't have a problem with LES. I am diabetic type 2, so I have that concern as well. I factor the increase in carbohydrate into my daily limits.
Everyone should make sure they factor these things into their food consumption ... I have to say that the instant relief ice cream gave me, made it easy for me to compensate for the disadvantages that ice cream carry with it.
I told the doc and the doc just nodded understanding. I take it that taking ice cream for instant relief of bile reflux hasn't got any scientific study. When the docs don't have scientifically based information, I find they usually don't say anything.
I wondered if it were possible that there is so little "dairy" in ice cream that's why it didn't 'kick back' when I ate it. I know drinking milk just makes the reflux taste even more horrible - increasing the content of my stomach with anything else just makes it worse. My stomach is bloated anyway during a bile attack ... I find the bloating goes down along with the reflux.
I appreciate your response, f'shur Selma. Thanks. I think I'll worship at the fountain of mercy that is ice cream during a bile reflux attack, so long as it works - haha. Anything's better than a bile reflux attack. For me, anyway.
Thanks for the feed-back.
Hi...I am glad this works for u, but keep in mind dairy can reek havoc on many with a slow LES....so it is one thing we r told to avoid.....
U have to understand we r all diff and respond diff to the same problems....but , we can not expect to get the same results as someone else.
I am so glad the ice cream works for u, but it is best to know the root cause b4 trying these things.....1 to 2 cups of Ice cream is a lot and can cause an increase of weight which can trigger more reflux....
Talk to ur dr to try to understand y u feel relief to know y this works for u......
