what Selma said......and also the pain in the chest that I get with my GERD is more in the lower chest / lower aesophagus where your ribs form a V and goes through to my back
Heart pain feels like something really heavy is pushing down on your chest in the area below your collarbones. It's not usually a sharp pain. Next time it happens you should do as Selma suggests - go to an ER while it's hurting and get checked.
Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.
It can very well be GERD...but with chest pain see a Dr asap and rule out heart issues and also look to your families medical history.
While waiting to see a Dr....do modify your diet and avoid foods that are greasy, spicy, acidic, caffeine, carbonated bevs....alcohol.
Also elevate the head of your bed to help keep things down where they belong.....
Eat smaller more frequent meals....4 to 6 small meals......
exercise and destress.....as stress and anxiety can add to this condition.
