I am a patient with gastritis. Reading post of patients with gallbladder removal, I observe that some indicate to have very bad bile reflux and even esophagitis after surgery. What were the tests that they underwent, I don't have that in hand. Most likely, the upper GI endoscopy indicated esophagitis.
You may have bile reflux into your stomach after gallbladder removal and the stomach got irritated. Definitely you should undergo an esophageal impedance/pH monitoring to establish whether you have acid and bile reflux. Check the Mayo Clinic site for further info.

Drugs may be very helpful but sometimes the problems ellude the medical tests.
Good luck
