burping

I burp constantly.  I don't think I eat fast, I eat fairly good foods, but I burp no matter what I eat or drink and if I get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, I will burp.  I am 55 years old.  I do take prilosec for irritation on the esophogus from GERD.  I did have an endoscopy done.  I have had upper GI's done and all have come out negative.  Any suggestions?

(Such a pretty nickname!) Sometimes, excessive belching is a sign of an over abundance of "bad" bacteria in the digestive system or insufficient digestion leading to infrequent bowel movements and a buildup of gas. It has to exit one way or another! To keep the gas from forming, drink kefir and eat plain yogurt regularly, and drink a "green" beverage every day, such as a little aloe juice or wheatgrass juice from the health food store. These things will help keep things "moving along". You should notice a difference within a few days, and if you keep on this regimen, the burps will almost be eliminated.

I belong to Weight watchers...I have lost weight but it seems that the more weight I lose, the more I burp....maybe it just seems that way, but I burp constantly.  I have been on Prilosec for a couple of years now.
