Digestive

Hi,

I had my gallbladder removed in 2000.
The surgeon informed me there were some still there as they could not remove them, due to some problem.

In 2006, I had recurring pains in the upper stomach and back. My university doctor gave me losec for one month. It seemed to work. Then in 2009 from Jan to May I had intermittent pains, of the same nature. The attacks would be a burning sensation in the upper stomach and sometimes back. It would last from 30 minutes to 45 minutes--. It would start an hour or two after I had eaten a meal. During both of these periods I was under a lot of stress.

The doctor prescribed me with Losec again. this time it worked for one month. But the day I stopped taking it, I suffered another pain attack. The doctor extended my prescription for two more months. I have just finished taking the second month. However, I notice that it the pills are not always working, in the past two weeks i have had about four attacks. Not as severe  as when I don't take them but its still there in the background. I also have reflux with food and liquid coming up. My stomach feels like it has a growth in it, it may not but it seems like it is swollen.

I am wondering what it could be? my doctor doesn't think  it is peptic ulcers she now thinkgs it related to the gallstones that were left behind--is this possible? she is now sending me for a ultra sound, and blood tests.

I would really appreciate your opinion on what is might be.

cheers,
Jessie

I have no idea what else it could be...but, I do know that sometimes H.Pylori can hang on after a few rounds of meds...so I would look into getting tested to be sure it was eliminated.

Have they done an ultra sound to look to see what it could be stones or scar tissue?

Thanks,

My doctors ar Uni diagnnosed it as excessive acid in my stomach which the medication is supposed to kill the H.Pyloi virus. Now my doctor thinks it may be the gallstones that the surgeons left from the operation in 2000. I am wondering there are any other diagnoses out there?

Hi Jessie...I wish I could say this is what ur problem is...but, I can not...only give u some things to look into to rule out.

Ask about being tested for H.Pylori....and if it  is possible to have scar tissue built up causing this annoyance.

Good luck and do post updates on what u find out : )
