just curious

I have recently been experiencing some symptoms...not yet been to the doctor. Recently (a few months ago), I began noticing it feels like I have a lump in my throat..doesn't hurt, just very annoying. It comes and goes, usually lasting about 4 days before it subsides and doesn't return for a month or more. I have also noticed at times, heartburn, though few and far between episodes. Another thing I have noticed it that when I don't drink enough fluids, I occassionally have feelings that my heart is fluttering (lasts less than 5 seconds and is months in between). Any suggestions as to what this may be? Also wondering should I schedule an appointment with a family doctor or should I see a ENT specialist instead? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks so much for everyone's time.

Thanks so much for your help. I did some research on a GERD diet and have started as of yesterday. I am trying to drink lots of fluids, particularly water and do away with caffeine. I will look into scheduling an appt. today to get thyroid checked and discuss GERD. Again thanks. It is nice to know someone is out there listening and offering suggestions.
