pain upper right abdomen

I am 31 yrs old, female, no kids. Smoker. 71 kgs weight - 1.65 height
I had a very dull pain in the middle of my chest about 5 days ago. It is right in the middle leaning towards the right.
The pain would last a few seconds and then go away and then it would start again a few minutes later. It only happened in the evenings (6pm) until bed time.
A few days later I would wake up and the pain would start in the morning.
I went to the dr. Blood pressure was normal (80 - 120), lungs and heart seemed perfectly fine. The dr said it could be stress related but if it got any worse to go back - she also gave me a list of warning signs and if that happened I should go straight to a hospital.
Its a very small dull pain, I am also experiencing pain right below my right rib cage, on the upper side of my stomach. It feels as if the lining of the stomach hurts, not sure if that makes any sense but that would be the best way to describe it. It only lasts a few seconds and then it'll go away only to repeat itself a few minutes later. It is not a constant pain, it is not happening 24 hrs a day, it seems to be a few episodes happening throughout the entire day.
Last night I was lying on my right side, took a deep breath and the pain under my rib cage really hurt.. ALOT! again it lasted only from the time I took the deep breath and then went away. I took a few deep breaths laying on different positions and felt no pain.

I have a feeling this might have to do with my stomach (since heart and lungs seemed fine according to the dr I saw).
I have not changed anything in my diet, I am not experiencing the pain if I do something physical (like running, walking up stairs, etc). I do not have shortness of breath.
The pain started while I was sitting and watching television.
Im under a fair bit of stress as I find myself unemployed and quite desperately in need of work - the minute I said that, the dr said it might just be stress.. but in all honesty I have never experienced anything like this when under stress and feel like I may have something else?

Background history:
I had a superficial trombosis 10 years ago on my leg caused by birth control pills. I am not taking birth control pills.
I am taking 0.5 mg of escitalopram.
I do suffer from IBS when under stress. I will get constipation or diarrhea or my mouth will fill up with saliva or I will have a constant need to pee.

Doesn't really sound like GERD in my opinion r/t symptoms.  If this physician thinks it is GERD he/she could prescribe a PPI and see if you respond well.

Sorry, confused about the pain pattern.  Is the pain all the time or off and on?

Exactly what "antacids" are you taking for the moment?

Not yet Londres70.

I went to another Dr last week to get a second opinion.
He thinks it could be GORD but isn't sure.
I had a chest xray, blood test and an H.Pylori Test done and should have the results next week.

I started self medicating myself by buying some antiacids.. they do seem to help a little but doesn't get rid of the pain entirely.
I'm just so sick about this, imagine feeling a constant toothache for 2 weeks - thats sort of what I am feeling in my chest - a constant little pain.
