prevacid in Hp Pac necessary?

Hello, I was recently diagnosed with reflux, blew a positive H Pylori and am on 7 days of the HP Pac.  Is the Prevacid necessary to kill the bacteria?  I know it may help overall with acid into my esophagus but I want to know if it is specifically necessary to make the antibiotics more effective.

that seems sorta irresponsible to me, I've seen too many doctors prescribe things without full understanding of the ramifications.

According to drugs.com - "Some conditions are treated with a combination of Prevacid and antibiotics. Use all medications as directed by your doctor. Read the medication guide or patient instructions provided with each medication. Do not change your doses or medication schedule without your doctor's advice."
