H pylori and constapation

I was diagnosed with H pylori last Monday, been taking the antibiotics and ppi. felt like I was feeling better till I started to have severe constipation. both antibiotics say may cause diarrhea so why am I so constipated.

did not know they made a pill, would be much easier that way. I know not the smartest thing but I skipped two doses of the antibiotics still took the ppi and was able to go a little. not only are they making me constipated I think there giving me a yeast infection.

  U should still talk to ur Dr, I understand u do not really like it, but u may have an issue with low magnesium and it could help more so then drinking a gritty  drink.....

Metamucil is something I can not drink.....and the magnesium is helping me, but my Dr RX'd the dosage....a pill is easier to swallow then that grit.

im not really a dr person so just going to try some Metamucil and hope that helps. my dr recommended it before but activia seemed to help. I cant seem to get past the gritty taste but guess I don't have much of a choice

  Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

I am not a medical professional, but have these same issues.....the side effects listed are common and general....we r all different and how we respond to meds and the side effects we get can be different from what is listed...call ur Dr ASAP and let them know as they can offer what u should do/take now.\
