Colon Spasms/post gallbladder removal

Everything changed for me after I had my gallbladder removed, specifically a lot more pain with bowel movements. Now for the last couple month I am having colon spasm daily that are horrifying.  I am thinking of adding Konsyl to my diet (gradually). Has anyone tried this and did it help?

Thanks!

Hello and hope you are doing well.

After gall bladder removal there could be intolerance to fatty food. But this is unlikely to cause severe spasms. Sometimes the pain could be due to gastroenteritis, which is infection of the intestines. Amoebiasis is another infection, which can cause similar symptoms. Other common causes are constipation and indigestion. Some inflammatory bowel diseases like diverticulitis and crohn’s disease can produce similar symptoms. Here the walls of the intestines are swollen. You will need to consult your primary care physician, who may run blood, urine and stool tests and may sometimes ask for an ultrasonogram to detect the cause for the pain.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

I would definitely report this to your doctor to let them know the issues you are having.  Follow up and let us know how you are doing and if your symptoms have gotten any better.
