Gallbladder pain is textbook but all tests negative, can I still have it taken out?

HIDA scan negative
Blood test negative
CT negative
Ultrasound negative
EDG negative (no ulcers or H pylori, only evidence of GERD)

Doctor says textbook gallbladder symptoms, I fit all the parameters (female, slightly overweight, 40 years old, family history). The pain is exactly the same as everyone's who has this: stomach, upper right, through to the back, constant for 6 hours or so, only painkillers help (and they won't prescribe any to me without seeing it in action however they occur in the middle of the night). I went to an ER who tried to tell me I had a UIT...

I've amended my diet to exclude fatty foods and most alcohol, which has helped. My gastro says the next step is to talk to a surgeon, but would they take it out without conclusive, positive tests? I feel like I have a dark cloud of inevitable attack hanging over me, and not having any pain meds just in case it happens is nerve wracking. I just want it out.
