No, silk does not dissolve. If it's material like catgut which are absorbable, absorption of such sutures is complete by 90 days. However, if there is accompanying swelling, redness, discharge and fever the wound is most probably infected. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation.

If you're worried, get your gp to check it out and they can remove them if needed :)
