ACUTE RECURRENT PANCREATITIS

MY DAUGHTER IS HAVING RECURRENT STROKES OF ACUTE PANCREATITIS. NOW SHE IS 12 YEARS OLD AND HAVING THE PROBLEM FOR LAST 2 YRS. THE ATTACKS HAVE LESSEND A BIT THIS YEAR IN TERMS OF RECURRANCES. SHE HAS BEEN ADVISED SONOGRAPHY REPEATEDLY BUT GENERALLY EVERY TIME ONLY A BULGE IN THE TAIL OF PANCREAS IS FOUND. ERCP HAS BEEN DONE AND THE DUCTS ARE NOT DILATED. SO SCHRINTOMY WAS NOT POSSIBLE. PLEASE SUGGEST TREATMENT AND WHETHER AT ALL THIS IS CURABLE.

There is no way I can suggest a line of treatment. Only your doc can do that. But the first thing is to find out if the cause of the pancreatitis is due to autoimmune factors or to other problems.

Does your daughter still have her gallbladder?

Has she been checked for autoimmune pancreatitis? What are they attributing the bulge in the pancreas to?
