my son

my son has already seen a GI doctor.  at the time he was about 9 months old.  they took a blood test and said his iodized calcium was high.  so he said to give him milk of magnesium to help him go and that he would grow out of it.  now at 17 months old is has gotten worse.  he is constipated all the time and in pain every time he goes.  what else cant it be and is there something else i can give him?

My grandson has had this problem since he was about 8 mos. old.  His doc has him on Miralax which has been working beautifully.  No pain, no hard stools.  She says he will grow out of this, and he has been checked out thoroughly.  Hope this helps.
