Bowel issues for many years, help!

Hi guys!

I have some bowel issues that have been bothering me for many years.  I went to a doctor many years ago and they told me it was IBS. I took some medication for awhile, but found it was giving me headaches, however it was helping a little bit.  But I stopped after only a few monts on it.

My stools usually look like the following:

Sometimes black, sometimes brown.  Usually flat or sliced, but sometimes round, the least roundest they have been are about the size of a marker.  But sometimes they are bigger in circumference.  Sometimes I get what looks like pressed coins, I guess you could say it is like a rabbit, but they are not round, they are flat.  No blood that I can see.  However, I think I may have hemmaroids because sometimes I do get blood from my anus and then it becomes a little painful.   I do also usually get a lot of clear jelly.

What bothers me is, that a lot of times when I need to go, I cannot, it is as if I am consipated. However, if I take some toilet paper and press upwards on the rectum, I can usually go then, but my stools have been small.

I just finished a detox and noticed that I could have a movement more easy and larger in circumference, that doesn't usually last long.

So any ideas what this could be?  Cancer? Candida? IBS? something else?  And what are the solutions?

Thanks,

Hello GwynnerWinner, and thank you for your reply.

I am going to answer each Do and Don't one by one. I have already adapted some of these for years. But have some questions on some of them.

1. No laxatives already, only was taking natural laxatives while cleansing
2. That's gonna be difficult, I try not to, but if I do not try to go I may not go for days
3. That's another tough one, I like to eat junk food, but try to stay away from it.
4. All I usually drink is wine or Vodka.
5. I don't smoke
6. I do not eat dairy products as much as possible.
7. As I now live in Asia most things are warm or hot.

1. I already take Acidophilus several times a day. Is there one you would recommend? Is there a difference between pro-biotics and acidophilus?
2. I try to.
3. Already
4. mmmm
5. mmmm
6. I have been told complete opposite things on the vitamins, some recommend do take them others recommend do not take them.
7. Can you give me a list or a website that describes what are superfoods and a nice long list of them?
8. Can't get it here.
9. I try to, but I also drink alot while eating.
10. ok.

I am concerned about my health, have been trying to make changes over the last several years, but it has been tough. I do cleanses already once or twice a year, and try to maintain a balanced diet, but the junk food always gets me.

As for the colonic, the only one I would ever try would be a colema board, but it has to be done under supervision and by a professional, it cannot be done at home. One also must not be eating during this process, usually lasts up to 10 days, one a day.

Have you considered going to a colon hyrdro-therapist for a colonic.  It is something akin to a very high enema.  Here's a few do's and don't's since I don't know what you have or have not tried.  Just suggestions.  If you have blood in your stool, it might be too late, but here goes:

Don't take ANY over-the-counter laxatives (unless fiber-based)
Don't strain while trying to go
Don't eat junk food
Don't drink unless it's some wine (red is best) with dinner
Cut down/don't smoke -- bowel irritant, likewise coffee or make it weaker, wean off
Limit dairy and high fat foods, explore substitutes
Don't drink anything ice cold and NEVER with meals

Do read up on: food-combining, pro-biotics, acidophilous, high-fiber diets, etc.
Do eat lots of "live" food: fruit, vegtables, unprocessed grains, etc.
Do start taking pro-biotics daily
Do chew your food throughly
Do eat slowly
Do supplement with a good multiple vitamin every day
Do check out (and start consuming) some Super Foods
Do try some Danon Activia (yogurt) and see if it helps (follow directions)
Do drink at least 6 glasses of water a day (between meals, not with them)
Do Google and read up on terms in this post.

Do be concerned enough about your health to at least educate yourself.  You have to participate.  Good health requires action  -- try to be less passive and non-chalant about the most important thing in life:  YOUR HEALTH !!!  Without it you have nothing.  God gave you a miraculous machine.  It's time to start taking care of it . . .

Good luck to you.

I highly doubt this is from any side effects of medication as most of the time I was not taking anything for any reason.  And I have done several detoxifications that would have eliminated any negative effects of any medications.  After detoxifying the situations improves slightly.  As for a colonoscopy, I have never been and it has not been recommended as so far.

Sounds like you need to go in for a colonoscopy, have you ever had one? Some of this could even be side effects from medications, depending what you are on.
