Burps

Dear Doctor,

Of late, I have been experiencing a lot of burps.  These are normally after food and continue to bother for a long time.  Feel full most of the times.  Over the past few months, I have put on weight (3 to 4 kgs).  The other reason for me to write now is that the stool that I pass on has a very foul smell, sometimes blackish and sometimes watery stools coupled with mucous.  I consulted a doctor and he had put me on antibiotic (Ofloxacin with Tinidazole) after which the mucous and watery stools was stopped.  The burps continue to bother with back pain.

Please suggest.

Mac

Burps are probably from H. pylori of stomach. You need to have a breath test to confirm it, and if positive, you'll get another antibiotics for 2 weeks. Blackish stool may be from stomach bleeding - due to gastritis or ulcer caused by H. pylori.
