I was wondering if acid reflux can cause pain at the top of the stomach, right in the center of the bottom of the ribcage? The pain can sometimes be severe to where my ribs feel like they are in a vice. These sypmtoms usually start off by the feeling of a bubble coming up from my stomach, feeling like I'm going to burp, but it ends up with pain in the area I described. I have a call into my dr. who is on vacation. I'm looking for someone else to take me, but most won't and there is no dr. on call for my office. My other choice would be the ER but I don't want to have to do that unless that is my only choice. Usually taking an acid reducer daily does the trick for me. But I forgot to take it and the acid reducers don't work all that well once sypmtoms start. Maalox has seems to help a bit. But I had it so bad yesterday that now I feel like I've pulled mucles in the rib area.
