I am thankful for all of you and for your willingness to post about this. I am 54 and have never had trouble burping, but I just awoke from a couple of hours of sleep with a severely painful and bloated body. I was gurgling as you mention, and it felt as though a burp was going to exit, and I could feel it go up my tubes then dissapate (where did it go? Was something in my throat blocking the gas?). It was so frustrating and honestly quite frightening. I felt as though I would explode. I could hardly do it, but I took a gas relief tablet and sat as straight as I could for what seemed like a long time (maybe 40 minutes) beating on my chest. Finally and all of a sudden, I emitted a very big burp, and then another. Loud and beautiful! Instant relief. I am sorry that anyone has to go through this on a regular basis. It was aweful.
I think you meant to say "actually." Also, your second sentence is a run-on and your third is only a sentence fragment. Consider using proper spelling and grammar when correcting someone else's.
Please do not try and act like a smart-*** and correct everyone's spelling. You're not smart and you're helping nobody. There's people here trying to post about serious problems with themselves, of which I also have, and you seem to think that posting spelling corrections is going to help? If they wanted to fix their spelling they'd be on a language forum, not MedHelp. Although it can sometimes be frustrating, not everyone likes to post with correct spelling and punctuation, so get used to that and stick to the topic.
Follow-up to my last comment. Phrase should have actually been in the past tense - "phrased"
My Apologies,
Burpless
Dear KellieX,
First off, "iv" is spelled "I've" (notice the apostrophe and the additional "e") and "weather" should have actually been "whether", unless your burps are acutally affected by the weather. Furthermore, you may have wanted to phrase the part about when you are laid down differently, it makes it seem as though you only make funny noises when you are laid down by someone but only when it's for "some reason", so if you had laid down yourself, normally you wouldn't make funny noises. Good luck with your two kids.
Love,
Burpless
Im 19 and have 2 children of my own, i have never burped either, ever, and iv not had any problems with anything healthwise, i do make funny noises at night when im laid down for some reason, weather thats anything to do with it im not sure lol
My daughter has never burped either. She is now 14yrs. old and when she amazingly let one loose on the airplane when she was 7, we were in shock for quite some time. She has other medical issues, but none related to her digestive system. It is very weird and I'm wondering if it is related to other unknown medical conditions. It is strange to hear that others are going through the same thing too.
I also cannot burp (33 year old female). I grew up with a phopia of vomiting and though I've gotten over that, I still can't burp. When there's air in my esophagus I guess I just swallow it. I too have gurgling in my throat at times, mostly after drinking carbonated beverages. I'm not too concerned about it as everthing seems to work just fine! I do think I get the hiccups more often than most, but who knows if that's related:)
no. i am 33 and have never burped. its the most uncomfortable feeling ever. had same thing gall bladder out, dvt to follow. no problem with liver as of yet. i constantly have a gurgling sound coming out of my throat and mouth though. very embarrassing. im currently trying a new doctor if he gives me any good advice ill let you know. hang in there.
