Chronic abdominal discomfort unsolved..

Hi I am a 17-year-old healthy male, I was diagnosed with IBS & GERD around Novemberish of last year (2009) by my pediatrician and was prescribed medications upon medications, but none of them seemed to work..so that led me to believe I had something far more serious, because I even tried to switch up my diet and despite all of that, I still wasn't feeling good and I had missed a total of 12 days of school because of all this madness. I then went to a gastroenterologist and I had a ton of tests done: endoscopy, colonoscopy, hydrogen breath test, etc. I was told nothing was found in the oscopys, but I was diagnosed with SIBO in the breath test. They had then prescribed me Xifaxin and I was to take 1200mg (3 pills a day) of that potent antibotic, so I did and I started experiencing severe stomach pains, so we stopped after the 10 days as directed. They said I had a ton of "methane" inside me, but these meds however, did not work one bit. We waited several months and after that we asked the gastro again if we should try another sort of drug for SIBO..so we did and this medication made me feel like my worst, I felt so incredibly horrible, I had symptoms of constipation, loss of appetite, and soon after that diarrhea and extreme nausea. So let me get to the base of this..the doctor's supposedly ruled out Chron's and cancer, ulcers and such. I am 5'11" 120 lbs. I tend to lose weight frequently but it has never dropped under 115 lbs. Okay so my symptoms are..it doesn't matter what I eat, I get a frequent burning pain in my lower abdomen with is associated with "burning gas" basically when I flatulate, it burns coming out and is extremely uncomfortable, after I flatulate usually I have to BM..and when I do it hurts like the dickens inside my lower abdomen until everything in my system is all out and then finally I can be relieved. Sometimes I feel "acidy" inside my esophagus and stomach at times, and I never really vomit, but I feel like I need to. Less common symptoms are diarrhea, and I get a "poking" pain in my sides like right where my ribcages are at, it's more of an annoyance than a pain.

I hope this gave you enough information to make a decently accurate diagnosis.

Thanks.
