Hello,
I'm a 17 year old female. For the past 3-4 years I've experienced severe (almost crippling) nausea after moving/walking around for more than around 20-30 mins (sometimes less). If I continue to move/walk around for more than a couple of hours often I also end up vomiting or retching, and it can be very unpleasant.
The nausea doesn't go away until I sit or lie down for a few hours, and often when it's very bad I have to sleep on it before I can fully recover.
Although the nausea seems to be triggered by moving around it is a lot worse after eating and when I have food in my stomach, so I thought I may have a digestion problem. I also feel full fairly quickly and don't have a very big appetite (although I never have).
I've tried taking motion sickness tablets, IBS tablets, indigestion tablets and antacids, and have been prescribed various tablets by my GP over the years including Prochlorperazine and Cyclizine Hydrochloride but nothing has worked. I am currently taking Metoclopramide as I have suspected it may be gastroparesis.
I've had a history of anorexia since the age of 11 and am currently being treated for a relapse in symptoms; although I eat a lot better than I have in the past I wonder if this could be linked with the nausea/problems with digestion? I have read that sometimes eating disorders can cause gastroparesis.
Any ideas as to what could be the cause of my chronic nausea would be greatly appreciated, as it is seriously affecting my life and stopping me from going places!
Thank you
