Gall bladder removel 9/11/08 - sudden pain today

Hi, recovery was going well - no pain killers needed since Friday morning at 6AM -  since then took some motrin only here and there for the soreness.   Today my right rib area hurts. A lot.  Hurts to breathe. Hurts to cough. Can't even pick up a cup of soup.
Normal progression of healing?
Oh, it was laproscopic - 4 incisions total.  He fixed a small umbilical hernia while in there as well as took out some adhesions around my bladder (previous surgery).

I did maybe do too much yesterday, made homemade soup- but was only vegetable soup, had to cut the veggies myself.  Other than that, nothing unusual.

Thank you for any help!

Carol

Thank you, I was wondering if it was something I did, but that could be.  The reason I needed the dumb thing out was due to the stones moving into ducts -
They were the smaller type that started to go forward into ducts due to me starting a diet.   Strange, trying to do the right thing for my body - and it attacks me.

I'll tell the nurse now, the motrin didn't help at all.

Did your doctor tell you that you can still have stones in the bile duct after a gallbladder removal?  I had mine out in 2000, about 9 months later I started having attacks again that were exactly like a gallbladder attack.  They scheduled me for the ERCP and found a stone in the duct, which was taken care of.  Talk to your doctor about having an MRCP done, to check for a stone in the duct now.
