Thank you for all the info and advice!
Cincinnati Childrens Research Hospital is the premier unit in the country for Pediatric Gastroenterology. People travel from all over to have their children treated there. They help with travel plans and have a Ronald McDonald House. Has anyone mentioned a Gastric Pacer for your daughter?
Gastric Neurostimulator (“Pacemaker”): The latest treatment involves implantation of a device in the abdominal wall, with electrodes sutured to the stomach. This new treatment is offered at the Cleveland Clinic and the “pacemaker” can be inserted laparoscopically. The Cleveland Clinic is among the few centers in the United States to implant this device laparoscopically. For additional information on this therapy, please visit the manufacturers Web site.
She could be gluten intolerant and not have celiac disease. I don't know if the difference shows up on a test. The symptoms are the same.
She has been tested for ciliac disease and the tests came back negative. We still went gluten and dairy free. A different doctor is reviewing her biopsy to see if her intestines are damaged from acid. Any recommendations for a good childrens hospital that has a good GI department? We love in albuquerque and the doctors here are horrible. We just got back from denver childrens hospital and that's where they want to do the GJ tube.
I agree with mammo that you should get a second opinion.
Have they tested her for gluten intolerance or celiac disease? I had the former without being diagnosed for years. It turned out to be something simple - gluten.
Check out this site and even get a second opinion.
