HELP PLEASE.......

I have had 8 months of misery - constant (and I mean constant integestion), severe pain that is right through my chest into my back between my shoulder blades.  I was on Lansoprazole 15mg, twice daily until a week ago I have now cut down to one a day but still as ill.
I have no appetite and am so down as I dont feel like me anymore!
Pain in my right side down by my belly button, round my side under my arm etc.

I have had a camera down which only showed up Gastritis - which is cuased by something but I dont know what?

Does this mean I dont have ACID REFLUX as the hospital never told me I had anything?

Someone please help as I cant take this no more and I am ruining everyones life around me with my constant complaining....... Thanks xx

Hi
Thank you very much for your reply - I am going back to my GP tonight to ask to be sent to someone else as I cannot cope any longer.
My current hospital lost my test results (biopsys) then lost my file then after calling them up time after time for help told me to pass on a message from my doctor which was 'they cant do anything else for me'...... this was like a kick in the teeth!

May I ask what was your sons problem?

Thank you

The docs need to be looking other places as well for your cause of pain.  Gastritis always has an underlying cause and this needs to be determined so they know how to properly treat it.  Tums or other antacids help, avoiding spicy foods as well, but it will not improve until they take care of the actual cause of it.  Acid Reflux (GERD) causes heartburn, and stomach acid to back up in your throat causing a burning sensation, but nothing to the extent you are describing. But I think there may be more going on, and you need to insist on more tests.  You shouldn't be suffering like this! I think it may be time for a second opinion, as your current doctor is doing you no good.  My son suffered for many years and it was a 4th Gastroenterologist who finally correctly diagnosed him.  I wish you all the best and keep going until you get answers and relief!
Take care.
