Hernia Sugrery Complications

I had hernia surgery 3 weeks ago in my abdomen and now I am experiencing pain and swelling to the right of the incision.  There is so much pressure there and the area is rock hard.  I called my surgeons office and they said it might be a fluid build up and to try a heating pad.  The heating pad worked to reduce the swelling and pressure for the next two days, but does not seem to be working anymore.  I did had to have a large blood clot removed the morning after surgery and am worried that this may be another one.  Any ideas?

please see someone to get this checked out - i had this problem following insicional hernia repair - my dr examined me and decided it was a seroma (fluid at the op site) and would go in its own time - i did go after a few months - but my dr kept an eye on it and watched my progress .. he told me i had done the correct thing by getting it checked out as it was better to be safe than sorry.

hopefully it will be fine.

You need to go back and physically see the surgeon. Call and have someone see you.
