Irritating

I have had this slight warm burning in my stomach that won't go away, i've had it for about 3 days now and it pretty much feels like I haven't ate for days (that hungry feeling). I can drink something cold and feel it sooth it for about 10 seconds then it's back again. I really would like some information on this cause my doctor already thinks I am crazy.

ulcers usually either bleed out or if it's an infection (h. plori) they don't go away..it'll just get worse.  Sometimes your stool will get darker...you get anxiety/insomnia

You can try antacids or if you feel better after eating and then it comes back that usually has a sign of ulcer.  Usually there's a burning sensation or bloating right below the center of the rib cage..sometimes it's felt in the back upper back but not always.

ORRrrr you're having bile reflux or gastric emptying problems.....you could try sleeping on your right side and see if that improves any...

calcium generally helps ulcers so if you eat some ice cream..milk (long as you're not lactose intolerant) and you feel better then you probably have acid in your stomach from either bile or ulcer...

either way you probably need a blood test to check for ulcer (h.ploryi) and hopefully your doctor will play ball..if not go to someone else or a GI specialist asap.  If it's a virus type it'll only get worse so try and relax..more stomach acid the worse it'll get.  (avoid spicey stuff of course..and chocolate and anything else you think would irritate it)

hope you get better jamie!

I haven't been to the doctor yet and no antacids haven't help at all. I just always let my mind take over and I fear the worst with everything. I am only 26. Can ulcers go away?

Have you been checked for an ulcer?  Do antacids help? If your doctor thinks you're crazy, find another doctor who will take you seriously, as this one obviously is not!  Ulcers can cause burning.
