Lower front rib pain

Hello. I am a 32 year old female and in good health. I had my appendix taken out in 2002 and my gallbladder removed in 2006 (stones were found).

I had my son 2 1/2 years ago and since then I have had lower front left & right rib pain that radiates to my back at times. During the past 4 weeks the pain has gotten very bad. I have been to a urologist to rule out kidney problems and everything was ok. I went to a GI doctor today and she wants to do the MRCP (MRI w/dye) to rule out pancreas problems. The pain is at the very bottom baseline of the front of the ribs. The only real relief I get is when laying down on my back. The ribs are sore to touch in that area also. The pain is there all the time. Nothing has helped it so far. I've tried OTC pain meds, ice & heat.

I have no other symptoms except for the pain & I am also having some headaches. Bowels are normal, also.

Does this sound like a GI problem? From what I've read if I had pancreas problems, eating food would bother it and I wouldn't be able to function well.

Thanks for any help you can give!
