Nausea, Vomitting, Pain in middle abdomen

For the past 3 weeks, i've had moderate to severe center abdominal pain along with vomitting, nausea and loss of appetite.  I have had a cat scan, endoscopy, and blood work. It only said inflammation in the stomach, no bacteria, but the meds dont help so the doctor said to stop taking them. What else could this be?

Good luck tomorrow.  I hope they can give you some treatment for your pain and a plan of action to diagnose you.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.  Please let everyone know how you made out?

All the best,

Sam

the pain in my stomach is like someone squeezing, not stabing or burning but like a constant squeeze.. if i do eat something like broth or crackers the squeeze gets tighter, but the "squeeze" is always there. the pain is mostly in the upper middle pf my stomach although ive had some pains moving to the right and back since yesterday, dont know why that is... the pain is from the belly button up to my ribs. i dont know what else to do i have to wait to talk to the doctor tomorrow.  thanks

I'm so sorry to hear about the difficulties both you and your wife have endured.  Chronic pain is horrible.  Your life becomes nothing but pain.  I know how awful it is to feel like a lab rat or guinnea pig instead of a human being.  Some doctors are considerate, caring professionals and others just aren't.

I've never heard of Fundoplication so thank you for the information.  I did some quick reading and it sounds like it might be helpful for those with GERD.

It's obvious how much you care about your wife and she's very lucky to have you by her side and seeking answers anywhere you can find them.

Good luck and Godspeed to you both.  Take care of yourselves and each other.

All the best,

Sam

I honestly think you need to get to a specialist or maybe get into the hospital.  You've been suffering for almost a month now and you've lost 10 lbs?  That's a LONG time and a lot of weight.  Has your Doctor done recent bloodwork?  In light of your continued symptoms and weight loss, that might be a good idea.

I have great respect for the medical community but IBS seems to be a catchall diagnosis for anything with general abdominal symptoms.  You said you had inflammation in the stomach.  There was no Helicobacter pylori bacteria.  Your bowels are working regularly.  You are nauseous, vomiting, no appetite and weight loss.  Are there any other symptoms?  Have you had a fever?  What is the pain like?  Is it sharp stabbing or aching?  Is it constant or does it come and go in waves?  Have you had any other surgeries?  Is the pain on the same side as the ovarian cyst that showed up?  Maybe we can keep doing research and narrow this down a bit.

I've gotta tell you, I'm proud of you for dealing with this so well for so long.  Pain *****!  Hang in there!  It's GOT TO GET BETTER!

Good luck and Godspeed.  I'll check back here frequently in case you write back.

All the best,

Sam

I am so glad you posted a forum about your issue, I can completely understand the issues you are going through because i see it in my wife everyday. i feel your pain and sometimes i feel like the Dr's are just treating my wife like a lab rat rather than a patient they never give you and answer and believe me when i say that, they have done every exam on my wife and we are back to square one; the burning of the stomach and the pain on the lower left side right underneath the rib cage , the nausea, the acid reflux and the no eating because you can't eat. They have done pretty much allot of exam on my wife meaning ( CAT scan , Ultrasound, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, Upper GI Barium, Hida Scan, and all sorts of blood test and what did they fine, NOTHING! ) Now! Medications wise she has been on Aciphex, protonix, lavaquin, pepcid, nexium, prolesac. and they still have not gotten her better. So believe me when I tell you that I understand your pain. I have read on a couple of web searches that there is a procedure that can be done, the procedure is called "Fundoplication" they dont tell you about it cause the insurance companies do not cover it, so you have to go out of your way from those dr that swear up and down by HMO's. Believe that all you have to do is a little research.. Every-night I web search new options and I have even consider going out of the country cause the Gov. manipulates the system and the drug use and all the Dr's do is put you on medication instead of fixing you . I know that cost of leaving the country may be a price concern to you, but to me is not a price concern if it means to make my wife Happy and normal again.
I really hope you find some answer , and if you do please repost or email to share some info .. Good luck to you !
