Blood in Stool

I was wondering if there was anyone who could maybe put me at ease.

Over the last week I have had major amount of blood in my stool. For me this wasnt much of an alarm because I have had blood in my stool off and on for probably 15 years but never to this extent.

I have had two colonoscopies.. one in March of 2001 where I had small edenoma polyps that were removed. A repeat colonoscopy done in Nov 2004 was done and more edenoma(very small) polyps were removed with the doctor saying to come back in 4 years. The doctor made a brief mention about Hemorrhoids but nothing was done about that

Fast forward to this new gastro doctor who said because of the amount of blood she could see .. she said to get another colonoscopy done as soon as possible. She herself doesnt scope. She did a quick inspection and was able to see blood and some inflamed Hemorrhoids. She gave me a prescription for the hemorrhoids but insisted to having another colonoscopy done.

My question is this.. Shouldnt I have some piece of mind knowing that I have had two colonoscopies in the past 5 years?
I mean the polyps were all removed in 2004 and it takes years for new ones to grow.  This new gastro doctor said it all depends on well you've been cleaned out ... She just worried me a bit.

Any feedback is appreciated

Thanks
Mike

My 21 year old daughter had a lot of bright red blood after passing stools a couple of years ago and she said she had it once after that but I am not sure if she ahas more as she does not want to go to the doctors, When she had the first one took her to a lady gp they did an internal and said it must have been a tear, she said she wasslightly cntipatd.
She has also been complaining about a  pain in her  right side of stomach did stomach ultra sound and it ws clear, but  they did not do an internal as she was not sexually activv. she also has hematuria which is noticible under a microscope only .
Asked to do xray but she hasnt this was 2years ago still complains on and off . Says that I dont care when I have tried on numerous times totake her tosee the doctor, and she refuses.
She doesnot tell me anymore if she is passing blood or not, but knowing her if it is bad she will tell me.
Is it something that I should worry or was the doctor right about the tear would she have felt if there were hemmoroids or polyps
Concerned and dont know what to do
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback.

I have an HMO so its going to take awhile until I am referred to a gastro under my insurance program but I am going to have another colonoscopy

I just hope having two previous ones would have gotten anything that was bad.

When I do finally get this colonoscopy it will have been my 3rd one  since March of 2001.

My husband had lots of blood in his stool once a year it seemed for a couple of years in a row.  Naturally, he went to see his gastro guy and he had his colonoscopy.  He too had benign polyps and hemmoroids.  All of the polyps were removed and he used his Anusol and everything was fine, each time.  So please have a colonoscopy done.  We were told with repeat problems that he needed to be scoped yearly.
