abdomial pain and diarrhea

My boyfriend went to the hospital with severe lower abdominal pain, they did blood test, urine test, and xray and found nothing. He has had painful diarreah for the past week and a half and twisting like pain than comes in waves and sometimes comes from the upper abdomen. After every meal he has abdominal pain and diarreah and has been been feeling weak and tired. He has been been taking a high potency workout drink before work (physical constuction) for about about 1 week prior that has high caffine and creatine content and has since stopped. The doctors just jacked him up on morphine and sent him home without finding out what was wrong.......do you have any idea what this could be? It could not be healthy to have diarreah and be so dehydrated and weak looking without being something wrong...please help! thanks

I'm surprised they didn't do a colonoscopy. How long has this been going on? Any blood in the stool or vomiting?

he has also has super bad heart burn for as long as i've known him( 5 years) and has taken antacids such as rolaids and zantac 150 daily.
