Post Gall bladder pain

I see a lot of questions on here about pain after gall bladder removal. I fall into the same catagory but a few more concerns. I had my gall bladder removed 9-07-07. All was fine until a week after the surgery. Let me back track and say how impossible it was to diagnose my gall bladder. I had and ERCP, CT scan, a Ultrasound etc.... It wasn't until my 2nd HIDA scan that I was told my gall bladder was working at 17 percent.... no stones though. I had the sludge
Now that it is out, I have been having constant pain in my right side. I can't sleep on that side and anytime I reach for something it hurts. I had to go to the bank today and when I reached for the container out my window through the drive through, I thought I was going to die.
I have had another CT scan done.... results were normal. I had blood drawn to check for my liver and pancreas.... those came back normal. I have an MRCP scheduled for Wednesday and I have a horrible feeling that that will come back normal. I have been having pains for years and I am fed up with this and I am just trying to get some answers.  I thought that gall bladder removal was the answer, but apparently I was wrong
If I had to describe the pain... it's like there is something behind my rib cage that is bigger than the area and it is pressing against my rib cage trying to come out. Pressure, pain, stabbing pain! When I breathe deep, it hurts. When I cough, it hurts and when I reach for something just out of reach... it hurts. Food does not seem appealing to me at any time. I am still nauseated, although I am not throwing up. There is no fever.
I just don't want the pain to get worse while I wait for all of these tests. I have to wait a month for an ERCP if this test Wednesday comes back normal. What do I do in the meantime, is there ANYTHING I can do? I know I have to wait for the tests, but in the meantime I am trying to work and keep my life going. I am tired of waiting and I am tired of normal tests. I know there is something wrong and I am looking for answers. Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks!

No, you shouldn't be concerned about your mom's diverticulitis. Based upon what is known at this point, there's not hereditary component.

If the doc determines he can't find anything with the MRCP, consider asking for some smooth muscle relaxant meds in sufficient doses to try to relax areas of your biliary system. In addition, if you aren't already doing it, try following a very low fat diet. It helps some people, but not all unfortunately.

Another thing, the time I was having my gall bladder removed, my mom was in the hospital having 20 inches of her large intestine removed. She was diagnosed with diverticulitis, 8 stomach ulcers and a hernia. Should I be concerned with genetics? I am 28 years old.... kinda young to be worrying about all this but I feel old beyond my years with this pain.
