I have a endo and colonoscopy scheduled next week. My first time. I too have heard it's a breeze, but I've also heard the worst part is preparing for it. The instructions they sent me said you have to drink some stuff that will make you spend the day before going to the bathroom and you're not allowed to eat? It said to not be far from a toilet for the 24 hours leading up to the precedure. Did anyone go through that and is it that bad?
I had one back in April, and it was nothing. After the twilight medication, you feel as though it lasted 5 minutes. I'm really sensitive to anesthesia though, so I felt really really sick afterwards, because the nurse never gave me an anti-nausea. You'll be fine, it's really a piece of cake.
Hi, I had an endoscopy a couple of years ago. I was so worried about it, and believe me, it was a piece of cake! From the time I went into the room to have it done, to the time I was back in the doctor's office listening to him give me the results, was about 10 minutes. They gave me Demerol and I didn't remember a thing. I had a graduation to attend that evening and I went, ate, felt fine, and did not have a sore throat at all. Don't worry about it at all. Good luck with everything and keep us posted.
Hi,
I just had one done along with a colonoscopy, and it was nothing! I did not have a sore throat after either. I am not afraid at all to have another one done. I was out during the whole thing.
Don't be afraid! :)
