Pebble Stools For 5 Months, Can't Find Source

Hello Everyone,

I once again come to this forum, because I feel extremely uncomfortable from when I wake up to when I go to sleep. I had to withdraw from university and can’t go back, since all my symptoms make me feel quite disoriented. I’m also on the edge of losing my job, since I have to stay home when the symptoms flare up which now is starting to happen again more frequently. I do not expect a solution from the forum, but any suggestions or what you think this could be will help.

I am a 21-year-old male and have been sick for a little over 5 months now. A bit of a background on what I have kept track off. This problem started 2 days after I had unprotected sexual intercourse. I was pretty sure there was something wrong immediately and was partially right. 2 days after I had a horrible fever, and sore throat with symptoms aligned with strep, whenever I swallowed it felt like I had shards of glass going down the throat. The doctor tested for strep and it was negative, but I still got treated with amoxicillin. I also got an full STD test which tested positive for Chlamydia. Prior to this I had never had unprotected sexual intercourse, I actually was not sexually active with anyone so I was sure it was from this experience.

Both the throat and STD got taken care of, but I still felt odd. About 1.5 week after the horrible sore throat went away I started to have problems swallowing saliva or food, it felt and still feels like some friction occurs as I swallow. At around the same time, I started to get horrible pain on the lower left and lower right sides of my abdomen. The pain feels as if I have needles poking me inside out and like those particular spots are bloated. I have had literary 0 normal bowel movements since then, they are always pebble shaped and are either very dark brown or pale brown and occasionally a mix of colors, I also feel constipated. I have now had several occasions that my stool is extremely odd like they are the same pebble, odd color shape with the addition of being extremely huge or in some occasions the stools are connected like by strings, but made of stools. Before this my stool were always long and smooth and when I had stomach pain, from playing sports to soon after eating, I had diarrhea never constipation or pebble stools. I drink 4-5 16oz of water/day and tried switching my diet to have more fibers, but the food I eat for the past 7 years has never affected me. Sometimes I also have pain on both of my private parts and have some redness down there, but I’m not sure if these are linked.

These are the main symptoms that bother me day to day, but over the past month or so I have been feeling even more odd. I always feel like I am getting the flu. I’ve been experiencing lots of post nasal drip, sometimes minor throbbing headaches, and I feel like my body temperature is becoming hotter even though I’m within normal temp range (97.3F-98.6F).

One of the main problems is explaining all of these things to the doctors because my blood test and analysis have come within normal range. I had 140/90 blood pressure and my doctor told me it was fine, but I’m not sure if this is fine for a 21-year-old. The same doctor also placed me on anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medication, which I feel that I do not have. I definitely get depressed and anxious when explaining this since it’s taking over my life, but I don’t constantly feel depressed. I’ve been knowing my body for quite a long time and I feel sick like when I am getting the flu.

The fact that all of these symptoms happened days/weeks within the unprotected sexual intercourse tells me it is most likely linked to it. I am no longer worried about STDs since I did a several STD tests, the last one near the end of the 4th month and everything has been normal. But I am almost sure this is some remnant from that experience.

Does anyone have any idea of what this could be? How could I isolate what the source might be? Is it possible I have some sort of virus, bacterial, or fungal infection that started at my throat at the beginning of all this and spread to my stomach? Considering many of my symptoms are in the nasal area I’m assuming that might be the source, but I honestly have no idea. I have had urinalysis, STD test, abdominal ultrasounds and now will probably be trying to get a stool analysis, thyroid and nasal scope.
