Steel wool fiber I may have swallowed 1 or 2 of them falling off steel wool pad

I just ate steel wool fiber and honestly I am worried. I was eating rice and I fel a sharp cut as I was eating it,  the second time I pull out a wool fiber from the rice and now Im worried of any side effects

I'm kind of worried you know. Steel wool fiber incidents mixed to food, accidentally, I presume, had been usually happening to me. Like in a year, I would get 4 cases of that incident on my food and now I'm worried that what if I had swallowed a bit of steel wool unconsciously? Without me seeing it? How would I know?

Talking about Steel wool...Check this out. Just happened lately (Dec 5 2013)  with Starbucks product in Thailand. ugggg 2 pieces went in to my mouth. At last found 5 pieces in my coffee frappu. It look impossible, but possible. Be wear of everything u eat.
This is my direct experience and I am still worry about this. Moreover i had a chance to talk to customer service person. She mentioned that Starbucks does not allow steel wool, but only except for floor scrubbing. That message put me in a worst feeling. ewwwwww

the oven chips were okay but i had a pain after and then i got worried had a poop today so im hoping they will get excreted like oats or grains do similar in shape

I have thrown out all steel wool pads and brillo pads. They are not needed. have a plastic pad if needed

thanks for the relief I was so thinking i was going to die cause I hate hospitals and doctors

Ohh  okay...just little fibers from the wool pad!  Makes better sense now! LOL  I imagined you eating a steel wool pad! haha  sorry
I don't think you will have any problems. Drink milk...as it will coat the stomache with thicker than usual mucas and eat good.  Those fibers are so soft and small...don't worry.
You won't have to look at poop either.  If in the future...6 months or more from now, you start having pains and/or bleeding in vomit or poop....go to a doctor.
Throw away the steel wool and get a teflon pad instead...those won't break off little pieces as the steel wool does. I hope you were able to enjoy your oven chips!!!

I cook some oven chips and may have scubbed tray the day before with steel wool but they seem to have fallen out of steel wool scrubber and onto tray when i put chips on dinner plate i removed pieces of steel wool i could see. they are small bits. I do not want to go to doctor either but i hope it pass and i cannot check poop I get vomit

How on earth did you manage to swallow steel wool?
As far as if it will break down...no...its STEEL wool. Eat high fiber foods and maybe a stool softener (NOT A LAXATIVE). Drink alot of water too.  Give your system at least 5 days to pass it. You do realize you will have to look through your bowel movement, right?  Many kids have swallowed coins and they come out within a few days.  If you don't see wooly poop within the week...go get an X-Ray of your abdomen.  The worst case scenerio...you may need minor laproscopic or endoscopic surgery to retrieve and remove.
I am not trying to make light of your situation, cocabee, I have just NEVER heard of this before. Did this wool get mixed in with some food or something?  I hope everything passes okay for you. Keep us posted...if I don't hear from you in 4 days...I will be worried about you.  Take care...

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  That will probably pass through your system just fine.  However if you start developing GI problems (constipation, abdominal pain, etc.) then I would recommend seeing your doctor.
