Thank you so much for your response and input. I have been googling pancreatitis and definitely thought gallbladder but the doctor didn’t seem concern after the normal ultrasound. Maybe I should follow up again.
Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks for joining and asking your question. I'm glad to see you've been to your doctor which their guidance is always important. Upper right quadrant pain is basically under the ribs and we do have a lot of organs in that area such as the right kidney, gallbladder and pancreas. This article gives a lot of ideas about things that would result in feeling pain in the area you describe: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325862.php. Most things have other issues associated with it that help narrow it down.
Are you having any other symptoms such as a change in your stools?
Since you have been to your doctor and they are encouraging you to think of this as muscle ache and IBS (do you have IBS and are treated), then this sounds reasonable. Otherwise, very often this is an issue with the gallbladder or pancreatitis. This can be made worse with alcohol when you mention that wine has made it flare.
