can anyone give me ideas?

I have a 2 yr old that started with vomiting 2 weeks ago. Afetr 3 days of vomiting and stomach cramping almost mainly at night, he was admitted to the hospital for dehydration and testing. the Dr ordered blood testing, urine testing, and xray. He seemed to get better and testing showed nothing out of the ordinary. He was released on the third day, but began vomiting as soon as we got home. He was readmitted on the next day. As I was being admitted into the hospital with my toddler my mother phoned and said that my 10 yr old was having SEVERE cramping and vomiting.. I thought that it must be a virus, but we are now on the 13th day and none of the test show anything viral and no infection!!! There is no diarreah with this either...  And these episodes happen almost exclusively at night... I have two other children that are 8 and 9 but havent had any symptoms or illness (thankfully), therefore we haved ruled out virus. My 2 yr old is doing much better and will have an upper gi in the morning. He has only had 2 bad nights since monday..(one was last night)... My 10 yr old is a little better and is also scheduled for an upper gi in the morning. He hasnt had an episode since tuesday night. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? My babies have been so ill...my 2 yr old lost 3lbs in 13 days and  my 10 yr old has lost about the same weight in 7 days. The toddler started with the symptoms a week prior to the 10 yr old. The cramping is so severe that they are up from 1 to 3 hours at a time in the middle of the night. My 10 yr old is an honor student and WAS very athletic before this past week. He hasnt been in school or been able to participate in basketball since his first night of illness... HELP!! My pediatrician seems to be as puzzled as me...

I am so sorry for your family.  I do not know much about this, all the thoughts that popped in my head have diarhea involved.  My son had C. Diff. this summer, but diahrea is a major part of that, vomiting and cramping as well, but if they have no diahrea I don't think it could be that, also the smell of the poop is, well, it is unforgetable.

I have seen some posts about parasites, maybe they can look into that.

I wish I had more ideas, but hopefully posting will at least keep your issue near the top of the page.

Best of luck for your & your family's health, you will be in my prayers
