complications following appendectomy

I HAD AN APPENDECTOMY @ 6 WEEKS AGO, & WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE HOSPITAL, THEY IMMEDIATELY BEGAN "PREPPING ME FOR EMERGENCY SURGERY",KNOWING IT WAS MY APPENDIX,HOWERVER WHEN THEY FOUND OUT I HAD NO HEALTH INSURANCE, EVERYTHING CHANGED & THEY WERE TRANSPORTING ME TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL,B/C THEY STATED THEY DIDNT HAVE A "FEMALE WING" ANY LONGER...QUITE CONFUSED,AND ON HEAVY MORPHINE,AT THE TIME,SO I ARRIVE AT THE 2ND HOSPITAL, WHERE I THEN LAID IN THE BED FOR 3 DAYS WITH, A THEN, RUPTURED APPENDIX, UNKNOWN BY THE DRS. WHO WERE "LOOKING FOR FEMALE PROBLEMS THAT WERE CAUSING MY SEVERE PAIN&DISCOMFORT",(due to what the 1st hospital stated)...
SO, THERE WERE "COMPLICATIONS", I WAS TOLD UPON COMING TO,AFTER THE SURGERY...I DID NOT HAVE A "DRAINAGE TUBE",DIDNT EVEN HAVE "BANDAGES" ON MY 3 INCISSION MARKS, NOR DID THEY "SHAVE ME FIRST"...IN ANY CASE, I RECEIVED, WHAT I VIEW AS A "TOTAL BOTCH JOB" AND NOW 2 WKS AGO,MY RIGHT SIDE WAS HURTING SOOOOOO BAD, WORSE THAN WHEN MY APPENDIX RUPTURED,I ALSO WAS BEYOND CONSTIPATED,I WAS EXPERIENCING SOME SORT OF "BLOCKAGE"..I ONLY WENT TO THE NEAREST CLINIC,& GOT A PRESCRIPTION FOR "TETRACYCLINE 500mg." so the "infection", of some sort, has recided, however, I am still VERY BLOATED,& uncomfortable most of the time...certain things make it worse,as far as food goes...AND I can feel my right side, where there is inflammation is also very "hot" inside...I havent gone back to the hospital, b/c of nmy "insurance" problem..the drs. either dont care, dont want to be bothered, or turn me away, so I am in the process of applying for individual health ins., however,I am also doing a "7-day detoxification" vitamin program, in hopes of detoxifying my insides, which I am hoping will help with all the physical problems I seem to be having since the surgery. What I want to know is ,"Are these common occurancies, known to happen after this type of surgery?" Or worse? What the hell is going on inside of me? Am I gonna have to have more surgery? Somebody please help me......

i agree with April there is no reason for anybody to be treated that way and i strongly suggest that you speak to a lawyer.  maybe try going to a larger hospital sometimes they are a little better do you have a primary care giver? somtimes they can help point you in the right direction.
My prayers are with you dear...i hope you find the help you need.  keep in touch and let us know how you are getting along.
Bless you

Oh, you poor thing! To be treated so horribly just infuriates me, and all because you didn't have insurance?! So what?! You may want to look into a lawsuit here. There was no call for that kind of treatment.
I had my appendix out three years ago and was treated wonderfully (as we all should be). Being a military dependent, I went into the hospital with pain and sickness and they ran all kinds of tests and finally through a blood test and a CAT scan showed an inflamed appendix. They took out my appendix that night through laproscopic surgery. I stayed in the hospital two days and went home to recuperate. They all treated me very well, the surgeon, the nurses, the anesthesiologist. That's how it should be!
I'm not sure what you mean about a drainage tube. I didn't have one either, maybe because it was a laproscopic surgery? They only had  three tiny incisions and they used the surgical glue. I healed nicely. Then last month I had another surgery for a mass they saw in my small intestine which they removed. Again, I was treated very well and am recovering from that surgery very well. I also wasn't shaved either for my appendectomy because I guess the incisions weren't that low? Did they not say for you to come back in for a follow up appointment to see how you're doing?
I'm concerned at the symptoms you're experiencing. You may need to get some more tests run and see what's going on. You could have an infection or internal bleeding. You just don't know. The fact that you feel heat and have pain tells me there's some sort of infection going on. I really think you need to go back in and get checked out. Surely there are clinics and hospital's where you can be billed and make monthly payments? My friends had to do that when her husband was out of work for awhile and the had no insurance at that time. She had to take her children to Emergicare when they were sick and then when her son broke his finger, he had to have surgery to fix it. They did all of this with no insurance. Granted, they have a lot of hospital bills, now! Check and see if there are clinics or hospitals in your area like that.
I really don't know what else I can say. I wish there was some way I could help. I feel so bad for you. You deserved better and still do deserve better. First, you do what you can to get better, then if I were you, I'd look into a lawsuit here. Take care of yourself. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing, ok? You're in my prayers. God bless.
