I keep getting a burning sensation in my upper right epigastric region which has been going on for over 4 years now and for the past month the pain has increased more in the upper abdomen and sometimes it shoots down into the lower right and also get a stabbing pain in my back under my right rib cage. I just had a CT of the abdomen and pelvis came back normal. I have had a few ultrasounds, normal as well, upper endoscopy--normal, but had undigested food in my stomach. Also had upper GI series for ulcers-normal. Tested negative for H.Pylori and Celiac. I just had a small bowel series this morning b/c my gastro thinks it could be systematic and possibly be Chrohns since I also never have normal bowel movements its either diarrhea or constipation all the time constant bloating, i get full fast, I never eat more than once a day b/c I'm never hungry and when I do I dont eat much. I take nexium twice a day and does not help have also tried carafate and that doesnt help either. I watch what I eat, I dont drink, I'm 29, not overweight (105lbs) and I lose weight without even trying and cant really put it back on and its been that way for 2 years now and my doctors are kinda stuck saying IBS, acid reflux, non-ulcer dyspepsia and lactose but I stayed away from dairy and it dont seem to make a difference. My gastro said if the small bowel series comes back normal he wants to do a gallbladder function test, do I even bother? I have no stones, no sludge and was told if the gallbladder isnt functioning right it needs to come out and may not relieve my symptoms. Im so confused and frustrated b/c they arent positive about what is going on and I feel like they look at me like I'm nuts or something but I'm so sick of being in pain and uncomfortable and not being able to get any relief from anything that I've tried so far. So I should find out the small bowel series results in the next day or two, I'm pretty sure it will come back normal like everything else. Is it normal for the barium to move through fast? When I did the CT it was mixed with fruit punch and it took 90 min for it to start making my stomach gurgle(thats when they said it was ready) and today I had to drink that thick chalky milkshake and after 20 min my stomach was gurgling and i was burping like crazy and had alot of gas b/c after the first xray they said I should be good in 15 min after the next set to move on to the final set of xrays so I dont know if that was good or bad that it went that fast.
