anyone have a clue to what might be wrong with my stomach?

I have had upper right abdominal pain for over a year now and have found no relief. I have had every test from routine blood work to an MRI and they gave the doctors no clue as to what could be wrong with my stomach.  I had my gallblader removed becaused it was inflamed and it was the only thing they found that was abnormal.  I had the surgery for nothing I still have the same pain I did before the surgery.  Everything I eat or drink causes pain even drinking water.  Most of the time the pain is dull but other times the pain is like being stabbed with a knife.  I used to only have the pain for a day or two now it is constantly there.  I do not feel like eating because it will cause more pain.  When the pain is really bad I call it an "episode' I can barely move I cannot lie on that side without wincing in pain and wind up vomiting for two or three days. During an episode I cannot stretch my body out without causing more pain or take deep belly breaths either.  I have tried many medicines from antibiotics to reglan none helped. The longest episode so far was seven days.  I have acid reflux and take over the counter meds for it. I was a premie at birth I weighed one pound thirteeen ounces.  I have had previous surgeries and have some adhesions.  I had NEC as an infant and had a colostomy bag for three months after the infection while my body was healing enough to repair the damaged portion of my stoamch.  i just want some relief.  Does anyone have any clue what could be causing my current stomach problems?

Hi!

I would definately investigate sphincter of oddi dysfunction!

You sound very similar to me! I have had every test under the sun done and all show "normal", I too had my gallbladder removed and it was inflamed! This has not helped anything at all!

I am investigating the SOD theory at the moment......

Good luck

Have you had colonoscopy, endoscopy?  Sometimes people develop SOD after gallbladder surgery which is a narrowing of the bile ducts maybe they can check you for that I hear that can be quite painful and feel just like a gallbladder attack?  Hope you feel better.
