Hello, I am a US citizen living in Africa. On March 17th 2018 I had a motorcycle accident. End result was a broken clavicle, 7 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, two vertebrae breaks on the "wing" of the vertebrae and numerous abrasions. I was in the ICU in South Africa for 12 days. I had internal reduction clavicle surgery which left me with a plate and 7 screws. Now 4 months later I am experiencing extreme shoulder, upper pectoral, and upper back muscle tightness. My shoulder along with numbness at times has a sensation of pressure almost as if something heavy was sitting on it. My question is has anyone else had this experience after clavicle surgery? I realize I had a lot of other injuries that left me unable to move well for several months and that muscle atrophy could be another cause as I experienced that along my right side upper body back, arm, and shoulder. I am just trying to understand if this is normal and will pass with time? Also, after almost 4 months can I go back to lifting weights or will this add to the issues I'm experiencing with my muscles. I am a 38 year old male that was very active and into crossfit prior to the accident. Would appreciate anyone's experiences with these types of injuries.
