Hi Doctors,
Sorry, I posted this on the free board and meant for it be be here....newbie mistake.
Here is the scenario. I'm a 36 year old healthy, married, straight male with no history of STD's. 15 months ago, I had an unprotected encounter with a woman whom I don't know very well at all that resulted in internal ejaculation. This was a HUGE mistake and one I very much regret and am dealing with on multiple fronts.
My first fear (despite her telling me she was clean) was STD's. Wanting to be anonymous, I ordered tests from an online shop called privatemdlabs that uses LabCorp for their specimens. I had full tests performed 30 days after the event and all was negative. I continued to have HIV tests (probably way more than needed) every 2 - 3 weeks. So at 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 months, my tests from privatemdlabs all came back negative. I also went to Any LabTest Now and had a test at 11 months that was negative as well (they use Quest Diagnostics).
I was actually convinced I was negative until an acquaintance (who I did not know had the disease) passed away not to long ago from AIDS. I guess that the shock of that discovery and his subsequent death triggered me to start worrying again. So, my question is can I rely on an online vendor and retail shop such as this? Can I believe my results as negative and move on? Should I go to my GP and have another test performed or do you think I'm okay via privatemdlabs.com and Any LabTest Now?
Thanks in advance for your response and expertise.
