Eating hair?

I was eating lunch today and there was a hair in my food much to my disgust. It still had the sticky bit of follicle attached. I am wondering if there is any risk of HIV to me? If the hair had been freshly plucked and the follicle was still gooey am I at any risk? I didn’t obviously eat it but would the food have been contaminated by it? I’m so grossed out & also anxious.

You can not and will not ever get HIV from eating hair with follicle or blood. The only ways someone gets HIV is to have unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles to inject drugs. Air inactivates the virus. This is NO risk.

Alright that’s a relief. Can you please tell if someones saliva getting into my eye is a risk? I was speaking to someone of unknown status and specks of their saliva went into my eye, I felt the spit go inside my eye. Am I at risk for that? Because it was directly going from their mouth to my eye
Unless it is one of the three things mentioned, unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV needles to inject drugs, it is NOT a risk.
