lancet HIV risk?--kind of different opinions from CDC in China

A few days agao,I found a bag of medical tools which my family member
just bought. There‘s a small lancet(which i checked was solid, not hollow),out of curiosity,i took it.Its pin was just covered by a plastic cube, and could be easily taken off.But i did not pay much attention to the small pin,and it poked into my finger, which blood came out.My friend told me i could be infected, and i was scared!  I came from China, my local CDC told people that strange pins or lancets can also cause infection! And CDc also told people even a very small wound is also a risk, though it's low risk. Some nurses or doctors even recommanded the testing!? It's horrible! because there was no blood or other liquid on the surface, and it is NOT hollow,Moreover, the lancet has stayed in a small plastic bag for more than a week, and i guess if sb used it(in China, many people tends to think so),the time of a week is enough for the surrounding elements to kill the virus.SO, here is my questions(this is my first time posting questions)-----1)the virus will be dead once exposured to the elements(no matter plastic bags or open air or other inanimate objects),because virus can't live outside the body.AM IRIGHT?  2)what the so-called doctors said in my local CDC, RIGHT or WRONG? 3)testing needed or NOT? I will be very grateful if some professionals could answer my questions and do a little explaination  why it can't cause infection.because all of my friends or even some medical wokers do not know much about that. What they will say when asked these sorts of questions is "you can get a test, it's a risk". It's quit unresponsible and could arouse anxioty! Thank you docs or professionals!

thanks. that's what i told my friend. she just didnot trustme.and her anxiety affect me. to my knowledge, the only access of infection is the exchange of blood or other body liquid. so the lancet is clean and dry , so no risk, i don't know whether this view is right?

The HIV virus can not live in the open air. What China CDC said to you is right, however, it is theoretical risk. For example, it is theoretical that you can be the chairman of  China, but in fact, you can not, Right?  The doctors in China are very conservative. You have no risk of HIV and you do not need testing. Good Luck!!!

I agree with you.I believe there are thousands and thousands of people were poked by sth.If the virus is powerful then as u said"the whole world would have hiv". Thank you again!

Well then your CDC organization in your country needs to update their information, most Hiv experts would agree that the Hiv virus becomes inactive as soon as it is exposed to air and thus is unable to infect. If this wasn,t the case the whole world would have Hiv.The virus is NOT powerful outside the body, infact it,s extremely weak and fragile. You have been given the wrong information by your friends.Stick to the facts.

thanks for ur advice. But my friends just don't trust that, they always thought the virus is prwerful and could live for quit a long time.when they told that the virus can't stay alive when exposured to even a pice of paper for a few minutes, they said in confidence that "if ur right, then why the national CDC(in China)says its 'a risk' instead of 'very low risk', you'd better test.upi should trust science." God! What is the science knowledge about the virus?"

You never had a risk and don,t require any testing at all.The Hiv virus becomes inactive and unable to infect you as soon as it is exposed to air.Your safe.Remember that the CDC is ultra conservative in it,s assessments and guidelines.
