Age of Insanity?

You know, 30 years ago, if someone just got laid, they would have been happy about it, being one of the basic needs, behind food, shelter, and clothing.  It would have been like just eating a steak, or a hamburger.  It was a need fulfilled.  Now, it's 'I just got laid, now I have to worry about a long, horrid, dreaded, debilitating, socially stigmatizing disease.  And I won't know for sure if I got this for 3 months.'

Thanks for the PDF from the CDC clearly showing who is at real risk.  It was good of you to finally admit what I have been saying all along (as well as Dr. H ) is all 100% accurate.

Good for you for being man enough to admit your deflection tactics were in error.

30 years ago condoms were unheard of and there was certainly alot of sex gong on.  Gay males were the first to be diagnosed with the disease.  It is now portrayed as an "everyone" disease, and of course anyone can get it but the ways to transfer HIV are limted.  Why were heteros not getting sick back then (THE riskiest time in the history of the disease) and being diagnosed with HIV?  there was alot fo sex going on and condoms were unheard of back then.

Gay males just happen to partake in one of the highest risks for transmission, next to needle sharing.  And the numbers continue to show that to this day.  The "MSM" as it is so eloquantly put now,  ALWAYS has the highest rates of infection........easy to find the stats for yourself if you don't believe me.

(Teak disclaimer: This is all based on North America, not Africa where the circumstances for hetero transfer differ greatly.)lol

dumbo is a denialist when it comes to HIV in the heterosexual population. Since this forum serves everyone worldwide and not just the US. It would be of best interest for dumbo to go back to school. Again dumbo, statistical and odds have no bearing when it comes to someone that has a possible exposure. Just testing will give one their status.

Read the following link and then tell dumbo where he can shove his uneducated thoughts.

Teakie, if anything "dad", this validates everything I have said in the past regarding "STATISTICS"......you know it and I am sure you are sitting there fuming that you did it and that I exposed it.  I mean FUMING mad right??!!!!!

If anything, YOU are the "denialist" no doubt.  You posted the PDF, not me.  It is EXACTLY what I have been saying.......EXACTLY.

And if YOU were able to comprehend what you read, you would see that you are the reason for the spread of HIV among "hetero's", mainly poor unsuspecting women who do not know their significant other is having unprotected anal sex (as is says CLEARLY in the article) in bath houses and/or random hookups.

Deflect away as usual.

You didn't do anything dumbo. You can't comprehend anything that you read. You are a hetro hiv denialist. People like you cause the increase of HIV/AIDS in the US from giving out false information. So you can rant and rave all you want son, but you will never be taken serious. I would say everyone, even though most that come here have not had a risk still have much more sense than you. So you can take your cut and pasts on down the road. Have a good day.

Teak,
While I sometimes enjoy watching you waste your energy in constantly correcting me, I do have a life outside of here believe it or not which is why i have not been around for awhile.

Nice article by the way.  Shows the "stats" on HIV infections *WORLDWIDE"...did you not read my disclaimer???lol  E for Effort!!!

But, I do question your thoughts on just who is in "denial".  It is pretty obvious to everyone except for you....mind you you fit the special interest group mold perfectly in deflection and fear tactics for money and to hide the truth tht this is not an epidemic in North America, and is not nearly as prevalent as Cancer, diabetes etc.  The stats, not odds, show that cancer has much larger numbers of people affected by it than HIV.  HIV does not even come close.  Cancer is by far more of an "epidemic" than HIV and is truly an "everyone" disease.  I will never forget the gay man who was quoted in a news article after a gay/aids fund raising event, he said "We got a good haul"....says it all right there.

HIV is totally 100% preventable and could be eliminated if only by getting rid of bath houses and denialists alone......and to top it all off, it is illegal for gay men to donate blood.  Why not heteros too since they are at the most risk according to you?

http://www.thebody.com/content/whatis/art13321.html

Here's a challenge for you.  Show me even ONE single statistical report from the US or Canada where heteros have higher rates of infection than gay men.  Just 1.  Then look at the "hetero" category, which is alot lower, then drill down even further to where it gives explanation of hetero infection where most are women, and alot of those are from other countries where rates are high, such as Africa.  True statement.  Anyone can find this info from Gov't stat agencies.  The "other" category could also be included in the MSM category since these are people who lied or do not want to admit receiving anal sex from another male.

Just 1 Teak, just 1 !!!!

I will wait....(forever of course because there are none to be found), but I will still wait.  Prove that I am wrong teak....that's what you keep telling everyone.  so prove it.  here's your chance.

so at the clinic today the HIV counselor pretty much told me that what Doc HHH has been saying is very very correct and consistent.  She said that she's never seen anyone test positive from oral sex alone, and that personally she doesnt believe it happens without extenuating circumstances.  She said she'd bet her dog's life I was negative, especially considering I tested negative at 5 weeks.  Hahaha.. what a day. Made me feel lots better. Dont get my results for two weeks though because they get a vacation next week. So, two more weeks to worry I suppose.  Have a good memorial day weekend ya'll. Try to forget about things for a few days.

I think a certain kind of person is just predisposed to this kind of anxiety, and whether it's HIV or herpes or cancer is irrelevant. However, HIV is kind of unique in that it incorporates both *sex* and death. You get the bonus of not only the stigma of having a STD and all that entails, but one that's still seen as a "gay" disease--plus it's fatal. It's kind of the jackpot of the health phobias, eh?

I also think that we live in a sex-negative society where fear-based disinformation about sex, HIV, and STDs in general is rampant--read the Waxman report on sex education in public schools. And while you're at it, read America's War on Sex, by Marty Klein. There is ample evidence out there that fear-based sex ed not only doesn't work, it backfires. And not only that, it's part of what results in what we see here--people freaking out over kissing, or blowjobs, or fingering, for god's sake. It's sad.

All it would take is the consistant use of a condom that has been applied correctly and that worry would only be limited to the rare condom breaks.
