Am I Infected?

I had unprotected sex with a guy whom I've seeing for a week on the Sept 7. Two days later I had a Urinary Tract Infection; followed by the UTI I had a big cold sore on my upper lip; and a Vaginal Yeast Infection with genital ulcers. Does it mean I'm infected with HIV/AIDS!?!?!?

I know I shouldn't have unprotected sex at the first place, but I think it's too late to talk about it... I asked if he's clean, his reply was "I get tested in Dec... and OF COURSE I'm clean..." Can I trust him?

I also have a sore throat for almost 3 weeks now. I know I have to wait at least 3 months to get tested, but went and get tested anyways, and the result was negative. I'm worrying to death right now... Am I infected with HIV/AIDS???

I see no reason for you to worry about HIV. UTIs are not uncommon in women and can be precipitated by sex.  Your cold sore may have been unrelated or due to stress,.  The yeast infection is also a normal occurrence in women and become more likely when people take antibiotics such as you probably did for your UTI.

The probability that your partner had HIV is statistically far less than 1% and HIV is transmitted in only 1 of 1000 exposures to infected persons. Thus on the basis of the math alone, your odds of infection are less than 1 in 100,000.  You are just about certain not to have HIV.

The test you had at four weeks following exposure would detect between 85 and 90% of infections that would occur.  When the result comes back negative, realize that the result therefore changes your odds of infection to less than 1 in a million.  Try to relax. EWH

p.s. Your sore throat is unrelated.  Try to stop attributing all that goes on to HIV
