Symptoms on Lips?

Are there nay symptoms of HIV that appear as bumps on the lips?

If not HIV, could bumps on lips be herpes? If so, if there was exposure by the mouth (never gave oral or anything) could you still get an outbreak around the lips?

Scared, your questions are driven by anxiety. I bet before your waiting period is up, you'll find a freckle on your arm and think; oh wait, maybe that's HIV! Loads of people suffer bumps on their lips! Stop symptom gazing; you know by now that

1. Your risk was extremely low.
2. You've taken PEP which makes for an even lower risk that you contracted HIV
3. SYMPTOMS DON'T MEAN S.H.I.T. AND THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW YOUR STATUS IS TO TEST AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME!

Look I'm not trying to be mean, but I did what you're doing and it never ever helps. You'll be fine:)

Sory Dopp, I wasn't really afraid it was a symptom of HIV. This is an odd looking sore/bump and my real concern was whether or not it was Herpes. Can I get herpes on my lip if I didn't give oral or kissed someone with herpes? During my possible HIV exposure, I never ever used my mouth/lips nor did i touch her with my mouth or lips (no kissing at all). Just wondering if herpes contracted through the genitalia can show up on your lip as oral herpes or whatever.

Thanks

Sorry I misunderstood. I know very little about Herpes, I would imagine there would need to be contact, but I'm not 100% on that.
If you're concerned get your doctor to check it out. It could be a pimple or just a cold sore:)

All good Dobb. Thanks for the response! Hopefully it's just a pimple or something but I've never heard of pimples on the lips. Weird.

I would've posted it on the STD message board but there is no Patient to Patient board.

Why are you posting in this forum? I see that you can't post with Dr.H. or you will be banned from MedHelp. So why are you posting here?
