Just reading the thread and wondering if you had additional testing for other STD’s Dimitar and what were the results? I’ve experienced something similar to you where I’ve had multiple symptoms yet continually test negative. Any more updates?
So, being HIV negative after 2 months from the exposure is a 100% reliable, and I don't need to retest?
I did the same HIV 1 & 2 Antibody + p24 Antigen test as Dimitar mentioned.
Where you tested yourself Dimitar, in Avicena Laboratory?
I made the test like 8 weeks after exposure, and it was negative.
But I think it's the anxiety which is making the whole mess in my head :(
All in all, no need to retest, despite "all the symptoms" ? :)
Thank you for your reply. I already moved on until this last blood count test. I have low lymph count (Lymphocytopenia) after the event that becomes worse as the time goes by (decline from 1600 to 1200 in the last 5 months). I live in a country with a poor medical care and that is why I use google to find answers. Maybe it is not HIV, maybe it is something else, however I can't rely on the doctors here.
You really need to stop Googling symptoms. Taking test results out of context can result in unfounded anxiety. Your DUO test at 50 days was CONCLUSIVE PROOF that you did NOT acquire HIV from the encounter you describe. You are obviously obsessing over HIV, and your continued posting and compulsive internet searching support this. I would strongly recommend seeking out a qualified mental health professional to help you work through this. You are HIV NEGATIVE. It is time to accept the test results and move on.
Hi rocket27rocket,
Your answers was very helpful for me. I re read them multiple times in order to calm my anxiety. Today I made another blood count test (5 months after the event).
My lymph count is very low (1.200). I read on the internet that this is considered Lymphocytopenia, and it's main cause is HIV and Cancer. Now I am very scared, because my Lymph count drop from 1500 to 1200 in just 3 months.
Also, my MCHC is high (36.4) and also ALT is high (46.1), which might indicate some liver problems.
My doctor refused to give me full STD panel test. However, I will demand this tomorrow.
Do you have any advice for me, what should I do? I am very scared.
Thank you very much.
Hi Dimitar,

James, thank you for your replies. They really helped me to overcome my fears and anxiety.
I had a negative DUO after 50 days. I still have most of the symptoms, but with my negative DUO at 31 + 50 days, I think I'm HIV negative.
I'm waiting for the 3 months mark to make a full STD panel. I hope everything is OK.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Dimitar
Never heard such rubbish, 15 years!!
The Duo test which is the one you had, is conclusive from 28 Days.
Even the CDC now uses this as their guideline.
You categorically do not need to retest, your symptoms a are nothing to do with HIV and I bet you didn't even look for them until you had read about them online.
Forget it and move on with life buddy :)
Best Wishes

My test was:
Roche HIV combo 4th Generation HIV 1 & 2 Antibody + p24 Antigen test.
After the test, I continue to have swollen lymph nodes on the neck, sore throat and all body itching.
I talked with the doctor in the laboratory that did the testing. He told me that the test is very reliable, they use it 2 days after PCR for blood screening.
However, he told me that the body reacts in different ways to hiv, and they are examples in the books where the body reacts to hiv in a month up till 15 years. He told me to retest in 30 days.
Does any of this changes you opinion? Should I retest? What are my chances?
Hi there.
Your test is conclusive, no need to retest at all.
Symptoms mean nothing, your Negative test from a very very low exposure risk is great news.
You are 110% HIV Negative buddy!
Best Wishes
James
Good news, I tested HIV negative (HIV 1 & 2 Antibody + p24 Antigen test) after 30 days.
I am still worried because I still have all the symptoms. Maybe my body still haven't created HIV antibodies because I have low lymphocite count.
Have you seen negative HIV 1 & 2 Antibody + p24 Antigen test turn positive after 3 months?
When should I test again? 6 weeks or 3 months?
Thank you.
Thank you for the comment and support. I hope you are right.
