Help Doc

Hi Doc and regular members

I believe I have a new situation, one that has not been discussed previously on the discussion boards.

I don’t know why, but 3days ago I had sex with a Vietnamese sex worker. I was under the influence of alcohol at the time. I have never done anything like this before and will never do it again either.

The event started when she performed unprotected oral sex on me. We then had protected intercourse and I am pretty sure there weren’t any problems with the condom. I didn’t ejaculate when we were having sex. She mentioned the need for a condom before I had a chance to say I wanted to use one which was good. After about 5minutes I pulled out, removed the condom, and she performed oral sex on me again until I came. I don’t think there were any open cuts in her mouth, but then again I didn’t ask to examine her mouth before we started, so she may have. I am pretty sure I wasn’t bleeding anywhere on my penis, however today I noticed three very small pin-*****-sized scabs on my foreskin which I don’t know the origin of.

In your opinion(s), am I at significant risk of getting HIV from this experience, considering the fact that I received oral sex again after having had protected intercourse?

Also, if blood is exchanged during the sex, does that mean definite infection with HIV or is there still a possibility that infection may not occur?

Thanks a lot in advance for your opinions.

Move on. You were never at risk for HIV transmission. If you cannot get over your fear test out to 3 months collect your NEGATIVE result and get on with your life. Drop the alcohol before sex too. They don't mix.

Cheers for your reassuring posts and sorry to be a pain...

i kinda thought the fact that oral was performed after intercourse was something that hadn't been discussed and that may constitute more of a risk, but I wasn't sure so I asked you all to check what you thought.

also I haven't read anything on this forum about the amount of blood, and was concerned that I may have been at risk from the three small dot sized cuts i found on my penis yeserday...

i guess everyone believes their case is risky.

thanks for all your reassuring posts...

I have failed to find what was new in your post which was not discussed on the forum before. Your case is simple and straight forward, your risk is non existent, as Mike rightly replied.

Firstly, oral won't give you HIV. Second, your situation is too hypothetical, you have a problem in the head, HIV is not your problem for sure.

You don't only need some sleep but also a good session of counseling.

Please move on, you're not at a risk.

sorry to bother you all again but is there anyone else who can offer an opinion for me of my situation?

in particular the risk of receiving oral without a condom after protected intercourse, and the possibility of a small amount of blood present...

Are you at significant risk? No. Zero. None.

If there was blood exchange (I cannot picture how would that happen in your case) there are good chances that infection did not occur. It doesn't mean definite infection.

Hope this helped.
